Vintage Ritter Belt Driven Lab Engine Dental Drill complete system
This is a vintage item but it is also a complete working setup for use as a lab engine. Included are the engine with pulley arm, a Doriot handpiece, a drive belt, the foot controller and an engine mounting post. The foot controller features forward and reverse functions with the option of allowing it to run at speeds of low, medium and high without having your foot on the lever. The buttons atop the controller allow this feature to be activated. For many decades these drills were used in dentistry. They are so well made that they outlasted the dentists that owned them. A belt driven system creates positive torque whereas other types of engine do not. I am a dental equipment technician who serviced these when they were still in use. All components have been checked, tested and rebuilt where needed. All you will need is a solid surface on which to mount it and dental burs to use with it. The burs (drill bits) it uses are the same size as those for a Dremel tool.
