    Description

    Vintage vase with a sterling silver base and an etched glass insert. The total height is 5 3/4", 2 1/2" across the top of the glass, and slightly less than 2 1/2" across the base. The glass insert has an etched pattern around the top outside border, and the body of the glass shows a light fluted pattern from top to bottom. The tip that goes in to the sterling base had a nice ground glass finish. The glass is free of chips or damage. The base shows sterling stamped, although lightly, on the inside bottom curve. Near the sterling marking a small dent from the inside to the outside, and its size and location looks like it may very well have been a first unsuccessful effort to apply the sterling mark. This appearance and location as opposed to wear and tear damage, which it shows none.
