Lowered price and added case 6/28/2021I have too many Bb's and since there's no gigs right now it's time to thin the herd...
Here is a
Conn Vintage One (model 1BR-50) trumpet with rose brass bell and a 50 lead pipe attached. The stock 34 lead pipe conversion is include in the sale. This has been my primary use horn for commercial and funk over the last 20 years.
Originally the horn came with the 34 lead pipe but I wanted more blow and purchased the 50 pipe separately. Once I knew the 50 was my choice I made it permanent (I still used the 34 for smaller jazz and chamber gigs occasionally). The
serial number is 814253
It includes no mouthpiece.
I'm throwing in a used (in good shape-working zippers) slimline Protec case as well.
It does also include
the accessory zippered pouch with modular heavy bottom caps and rounded tuning slide.
My shop was one of the largest UMI dealers in the NW and I bought this horn new from a choice of the 24 samples that designer Fred Powell selected for trumpet day at Univ of Oregon in the late 1990's (my rep carried many of these around when they first came out). I pretty much had pick of the litter as there were rarely more than 24 horns available at any given time when they were new on the market (we sold several that weekend in Eugene).
There is minor lacquer wear on contact points. The pipes are pretty much raw brass but I would say the lacquer on the horn itself is 95+ percent intact. Valve plating and compression are excellent.
Anyway...I'll put a price that I think is fair and hang it here in the shop as well until sold. If you make an offer don't insult me. These were really a good modern version of the pro Conns from time past. While working for Conn (UMI) Fred Powell took many of the great features from vintage 8B and 38B trumpets and put together a truly custom level horn for a mass produced price.
Buy it now for asking price and I'll pay shipping (I'll refund the ).
Other wise buyer will be invoiced for and expected to pay shipping-handling-insurance (via UPS Ground).
I only sell and ship to USA destinations
(please don't ask me how much it will be to ship internationally).
Thanks for looking!
