Antique French Wax Seal with Monogram Sceau

This antique French wax seal shows the beauty and craftsmanship of a well used writing tool. The piece has a hard wood handle and a bronze base with an elaborate monogram. It is not quite clear what the letters are, so we took photo's of both directions. The wax seal has seen use: the wood has signs of age and use in that there are very small dings on the top of the wood handle and there is a small separation in the side of the wood by a knot. the wood is very smooth from use. The bottom part also shows signs of age: the edge and surface of the seal is slightly pitted. This does not take away of the charm of this piece, as it remains fully functional.
Measurements are: 1 3/4" wide across the top, 2 7/8" long; the surface of the seal measures 7/8" by 5/8".
