Antique Early 1900's Wax Stamp Seal Stamp - Italian Bank - Philadelphia, PA
In the later part of the 19th century and into the early 1900's, Philadelphia would become the home to many Italian immigrants arriving in the USA.  Because of this, there was also a need for banks in Philadelphia that could cater to Italian Immigrants.  7th Street was once known as "Banker's Row" because it had over 20 Italian banks on the street.  This wax seal stamp is from the
"Banca Provincia Di Avellino"
and has the name
"Mike Fritz",
who I assume worked at this particular bank.  I could not find any information on this bank, but I assume this bank catered to Italian immigrants from Avellino.  I could not find any information of the name on the seal, but I did come across records of the name "Fritz" in Philadelphia.
The stamp appears to be brass with a painted wood handle.......measures approximately 3-3/4" with the seal having a 1" diameter........
The stamp is in good shape considering its age.  The brass has some tarnish due to age.  The wood handle has some nicks and dings in the wood, but it is in otherwise good shape.  The handle may or may have not been repainted or touched up at one time.  Please review the photos provided for this listing to get an idea of the condition of this seal stamp.
