Designs just like these are used by local fighters and occasionally seen in service with Afghan National Security Forces. These chest rigs are unique to Afghanistan, and feature a split-carriage pattern often seen in ceremonial usage.The 30-round Kalashnikov-patterned magazine cells come as blocks and need to be 'shaped' to the contour of the desired magazine over time, much like many leather products.Note: specific river color, pattern, and grenade pouch flaps might vary in small details from rig to rig. Please contact us if this is an important detail. We would recommend inserting magazines in a ‘brass-up’ orientation, so as not to snag the magazine catch on the interior of the pouch. Each side also features a grenade pouch located between the magazine cells. A "Small" measures approximately 35 inches at the smallest buckle hole to 39 inches at the widest, while the "Large" are approximately 40 inches to 44 inches. There will be some variation within these numbers so please order accordingly. The waist belt and shoulder straps are adjustable via metal buckles. Please note that these chest rigs are primarily worn as a matter of aesthetic choice by Afghan users, and are not designed for extended service in the field. Also be aware that the material is real leather, cured and sourced from livestock in Afghanistan. But this means that when you receive the vest the leather will be stiff and rigid in many locations. Wear it and keep it stored with loaded magazines or inert grenades in order to let it form to the dimensions of the objects.
