1954 EMO Champion Bb Trumpet Ernst Modl Germany with Case

Description

Vintage 1954 Bb trumpet marked EMO Champion. Also marked 498 on center valve and "Germany" on lead pipe. This was made by Ernst Modl in Diespeck, Germany about the same time he was making his World model trumpet played by Louis Armstrong. Well made horn with a nice contrasting brass body with nickel silver slides. Nice sounding horn with good compression and everything working. The only detriment is that the first valve sometimes hangs up slightly at the very bottom of its travel. The second slide has had some dent removal done and has a replacement knob.
Comes with a possible original mouthpiece made in Holland and a case. Someone has lightly engraved their name on the bottom of the bell pipe just before it enters the valves.
