1947 Conn 36A Concert Grand Cornet

Due to health reasons, I can no longer play trumpet and am selling my silver Conn 36A Concert Grand Cornet - Serial # 362xxx, dating the horn to 1947.  The horn is straight with no loose solder joints.  Valves are in good condition with new corks.  Mother of pearl in finger buttons in good shape except for a crack and chip on the first valve button.  Water key corks are worn but still serviceable.  All valves, slides and caps are free and operating smoothly, including the tuning slide micro-adjuster.  All three slides still have a pronounced "pop" when pulled. The only dent is in the bow of the tuning slide.  Art deco bell engraving extends just past the first valve and is still crisp.  There is some evidence of plier marks on bottom valve caps.  Silver on the bell is in nice polished condition.  Gold wash on the inside of the bell is still evident.  There is considerable silver wear on the valve cluster, lead pipe and other areas around the hand hold locations as shown in the pictures.  Very comfortable cornet to hold due to the wide wrap.  This cornet is probably not a collector's horn due to the silver wear, but I feel it's a player's horn, ready to play right out of the box.  It was my go to horn for ballads and dixieland.
The case is vintage Conn tweed with some wear but is solid and clean inside and out.  Latches close securely but do not spring open.    Included with the horn is a vintage short shank Conn 5 mouthpiece in decent condition.  I find it a bit tighter to play than the Conn 4, but it is a short shank Conn mouthpiece for pre-1958 Conn cornets.  I have always played this horn with modern Bach 3C and 10 1/2C pieces.
