Description
Duchin Creations starting from 1944. Duchin Creations had its headquarters in
New York (NY, U.S.A.)
and was a popular maker of a large line of
sterling hollowware
in the 1940's.
The company operated into the 1950's
. I see a large number of "wedding gift" items from this company in this time period -- all those post WW2 brides!
Dimensions: 10" Tall x 2.5" Base & Top diameter x 0.75" narrowest diameter.
Base is weighted to ensure vase does not tip over when flowers inserted. It is surrounded by a narrow band of fluting. Somewhat unusually, the base does not have typical side bashes (silver, being a soft metal, tends to get banged around as these pieces were used). Crystal is lightly etched with florals. This piece probably dates to earliest 1950's.
It is not practical to provide an accurate silver weight. Total unpacked weight is 5 ounces (138 grams).
Condition:
No reportable condition issues. Glass free from cracks, chips, flakes, breaks, etc. Silver base free from side bashes, scratches, twists, or mentionable boo-boo's. No doubt new buyer can improve on my polishing job. Glass is clear and not foggy -- any haze in photos is light reflection.
Always happy to pass through discounts on combined shipping. Please ask me for specific quote if you feel shipping cost is too high. I only charge actual postage, and always use recycled packing materials.
Note some photos appear redundant because I take photos from all possible angles. On symmetrical items, these photos may appear redundant when there are no distinguishing differences or condition issues between side views.
The item listed is being sold as is, as pictured and as described to the best of my knowledge. If you have a question on an item prior to purchase, please ask. Remember, when buying vintage expect imperfections as these items have a history and have been in the possession of others. I try to list EVERY flaw which would be commented on something in an antique or vintage condition – this does not mean all imperfections resulting from normal wear & use require comment. My goal is to have no rude surprises upon receipt.
